An outstanding and beautiful early 20th Century Persian Qazvin Kilim runner with a densely woven tree-of-life pattern across the main field. Tree-of-life patterns are not uncommon with this style of rug, however, this depiction is unique. Most are elongated with easily distinguished bases, trunks, and branches. These motifs are rounder, like medallions, and woven in complimentary oranges, yellow, creams, and corals. The border is also interesting, with three distinct patterns each consisting of stylized flowering vine motifs.
